When playing blackjack an ace is the most valuable card in the deck. According to whim, it can be played as a high card or a low card. Closing is the ace in project management. It can be an asset or just the joker. Which way does your team play the game?
Project Managers deal with conflict on an ongoing basis, and the key to survival is knowing how to deal with it. At times, this will be fairly easy, but on many occasions the resolution of the conflict will be challenging. Some conflicts stem from forces and events that are internal to the project, while others derive from external events and forces. Whenever there are two or more of just about anything and people are involved, there is the potential for conflict. This is because each team member will have their desire and goals. When one goal doesn’t coincide with the other member’s goal, conflict arises.
